2011 Regional "Hot Topic" Luncheon
Beyond Design: Implementing Streetscape Improvements
Featuring a Professional Networking Lunch, a Tour of Downtown Woodstock, and Wine Tasting at the Woodstock Museum
Woodstock Community Theatre, 136 North Main Street, Woodstock, Virginia 22664
$30.00 for 2011 VDDA members, $35.00 for non-members
Implementing streetscape improvements in downtowns requires careful balancing of potentially competing issues and priorities. What funding is available and how many of the designed improvements will be constructed? How can construction be managed to allow timely completion of improvements while minimizing the disruption to downtown businesses and customers? How will news of project progress be communicated to the public?
Join us for this VDDA Hot Topic Luncheon as representatives of Land Planning & Design Associates of Charlottesville, Virginia discuss managing, and overcoming, the challenges of implementing streetscape improvements. The presentation will also include discussion of the improvements recently completed in the Town of Woodstock.
This VDDA Hot Topic Luncheon lecture is planned in cooperation with the Town of Woodstock. The Lecture and Lunch will be in the Woodstock Community Theatre. Participants will enjoy a professional networking luncheon, as well as a walking tour of Downtown Woodstock immediately following the program. After the walking tour, join us at the Woodstock Museum (104 South Muhlenberg Street) for a wine tasting and tour.
